Welcome to Triple R Equine Sanctuary
Our mission began when my husband and I started volunteering at a local rescue. This was when we saw a huge need for healthy homes for horses. This pulled on my soul and I began to wonder. What kind of difference can I make? After all, I’m only one woman with a lot of passion for everything I do. So, I started to research equine colleges and what I could do to help horses in need. I found our state doesn’t have many horse rescues or sanctuaries. That was when I knew I wanted to make a difference even if it was a small one. Every horse has a soul and deserves a good life. Because of my amazing husband and the support of my family, I enrolled at St. Andrews University in North Carolina in 2020, and graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with Equine Specialties. This is when we opened our horse rescue and sanctuary.
There is no good place for older or unwanted horses that still have life left to live. Therefore, we take in mainly senior horses and old race/show horses that can no longer serve their owner’s purpose. This way they do not end up in a kill pen or on a truck headed to a slaughterhouse. We take as many horses as we can financially care for. We are an approved 501 c 3 in Oregon. Also, we accept all forms of donations which are tax deductible and very much appreciated.
We are fully staffed by volunteers who give their time and money to help us operate this rescue and sanctuary. Our Board of Directors comprises six members who know our mission and love horses.
In the future, we plan to offer space for boarders to supplement our costs. Most recently at our monthly meeting, the board voted to allow people to adopt a horse by donating to the needs of the horses, and their homes but the ownership of the horses does not change.
